Our Research Program

BioResources Pty Ltd and Coates Horticulture have recently formed a research partnership to investigate some of the pressing pest issues in the Macadamia Industry. There is lot to do. We want to complement the work done by other research agencies.

We need a better understanding of the behaviour of the major pests and how to best manage them in more sustainable ways. We also think there are ways to make macadamia farms more resistant to pest incursions by making the crop a more favourable environment for beneficial insects.

To start, we want to bring together the various threads of knowledge and observations into detailed, but easy to read Reports. This will include some grower questionnaires to establish the current status of the various pests.

We also plan to run various on-farm trails and experiments and in due course conduct grower workshops. 

We'll keep adding information and pics to this site as they become available. And will provide links to other relevant articles.
